Old stone cottage was in a wonderful location for us traveling to Durham University .It was a beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need ,it was very clean warm and comfortable home away from home .Will definitely want to stay again. It was a lovely village with good amenities close by and very friendly people 🥰

Fabulous cottage, clean and well presented. Great amenities and everything we could possibly need. Lovely welcoming gift and milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa on arrival. The smart door lock and instructions were all provided prior to our journey qhuxh was really helpful. We had a lovely week. Thanks 😊
We three friends, a couple plus one other, stayed for 3 nights in June /July. We wanted to see Durham, meet up with a sister and see Sunderland before returning to Lincolnshire and Warwickshire.

Unfortunately, the night before we were due to leave, one of our party became suddenly ill and paramedics took him to A&E. Not knowing what the situation would be in the morning, Lynne readily gave us an extended check out time. We were most grateful, but in the event, did not need it.

Lynnes property was such a great find. It offered us (four adults, two children, one dog), such a great place to base ourselves for our week away.
The house is much bigger than it looks in the photos and it has everything you need including loads of useful items for small children (toys, plates/ bowls, toilet seat etc.).

A fabulous stay at Lynne’s cottage. Everything was as described and the photos really don’t do the place justice. The cottage had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Lynne was extremely helpful. We most certainly will be back
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. Lynne is an excellent host and the place is very nicely decorated. We did a country walk nearby as there are lots of footpaths and we came across great views of the surroundings and local bird life. All in all another excellent trip. We highly recommend!

This was our second visit to the cottage which is by far our favourite Airbnb property that we've stayed in. It's a lovely property, has everything you could need, extremely clean and very homely. Ideal location for visiting Durham, close to large supermarket as well as local shops in the village. Would recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

The house is lovely and very homely. Loved all the days we spent in the house. Just to highlight the bathroom doors don't have locks which felt like a problem as we were 2 families living there. Apart from that everything was amazing and loved all the rooms. The host also had a book of reviews and recommendations which was really helpful!
We stayed here to be close to family for Christmas. We are 5 adults and a dog and felt very comfortable with everything we needed. The cottage was decorated for Christmas and with a lovely welcome pack it was a treat to arrive. The information to get in was very thorough and easy to follow. Thoroughly recommended.

Helpful host who welcomed us at very short notice when alternative Airbnb was cancelled. Homely spacious warm house had all we needed.Good instructions, well equipped, very clean.
Had a very enjoyable stay, all well laid out and equipped and our stay was very comfortable. Excellent location for getting in to Durham easily and a really nice village with everything you need on hand and a huge retail park a short drive away. Lots of nearby areas to walk the dog and easy to park the car, everything we needed for our trip, many thanks!

This accommodation is very cosy and is very well equipped for your stay. We were a group of 5 so having the 2 bathrooms was perfect. It is well placed for visits to the local area. We’d certainly recommend and would stay again if ever wanted to stay in the area again as this group. Lynne was very quick to answer my questions before booking.

We booked to stay near our Son who lives in the village great location! We were able to stay with our daughter, son in law and grandson. We were able to spend time with our son, and granddaughters all of us together in Lynne's lovely cottage. Definitely be back!

Lynne was very helpful and flexible. Her place is lovely, great location for what we needed and shout out to the amazingly well equipped kitchen! We really wanted to cook a home cooked meal and it was easy compared to other temporary places because silly things like … sharp knives … were all there. Sounds insignificant if you’re not into cooking at ‘home’ but it made a huge difference to us last week.

This was a return visit and the place was just as lovely as we remembered. It is spacious and nicely decorated and 2 bathrooms is a real bonus! We hope to come back again soon.

A very clean and comfortable place with plenty of space for our family of five. It was an easy drive into Durham and to other local attractions such as the Beamish open air museum.

Lovely place. This is the 3rd time staying here. It's so comfy and cosy, we really love it. Lynne is a great host, always responds to messages and leaves extra touches for your arrival. Durham is beautiful and there's lots to do, we always visit the Beamish and the cathedral which arent too far a drive from the property. The cottage was welcoming, cosy, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Although set back from a busy road, it was incredibly peaceful and we all slept really well. The cottage was only a short distance from the centre of Durham and close to supermarkets and the Park and Ride. Lynne was really informative and had even provided old towels, dog bowls etc for our furry friend. We'd definitely recommend and would stay again. Thank you!
Thanks for a lovely stay at Old Stone Cottage. The cottage is very clean and well equipped. It is spacious downstairs but the main bedroom was quite small. Fortunately we were able to put our luggage in the 3rd bedroom. It was lovely to have a bathroom and a shower room, each with a toilet! We stayed during a heatwave but were unable to sleep with the windows open due to the early morning traffic noise from the road outside. Other than that, we were very happy with the accommodation. Many thanks for the delicious biscuits that were waiting for us!
Four friends went up to Durham to meet up with a friend from work who had retired there.

This is the second time I have booked this quaint cottage. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It was immaculate,, well provided and excellent communication. For anyone wanting to visit Durham, the bus runs just a few yards away.

Excellent place to stay at, the pictures dont do it any justice, has everything you could need and more, the kitchen is well suppyed and very clean, the whole house was immaculate. Having decent wifi and a smart tv is a very nice touch and my wife was particularly taken with the towel holders in the shower. I cant recomend staying here enough, we will again for sure

Great stay. 4 of us were visiting for a wedding and Lynnes place was the perfect space for us to stay in. As we were travelling from London we needed to alter the check in/check out times a bit which Lynne had no problem assisting with. Had all the amenities you could wish for plus some extra treats!

Great place to stay for visiting Durham. The cottage is lovely and spacious throughout and very well equipped. The two bathrooms upstairs were very useful. Lynne sent very clear instructions prior to our arrival, and had left out a welcome pack with some tea/coffee which was very appreciated after our drive up! I would recommend this as a fantastic place to stay - thank you.

Cottage was spotlessly clean at least till our 2 dogs arrived. Lovely, homely cottage which I thought was great value. All the necessary amenities and the visit went seamlessly. Great location for Durham and can recommend the Bakery for coffee and rolls 100 yards away. We shall certainly return as my niece has just started Uni there....

Great cottage, lovely and clean, well equipped with everything you need. The lounge is lovely and spacious, as are the twin bedrooms. The beds are all super comfy. All the bedrooms have blinds and dark curtains so no fear of waking up with the sunrise on your holidays! The cottage is perfectly located for exploring the North East, just minutes from the A1M. A fantastic place to stay - thank you.
A super place to stay for visiting Durham and the surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend staying here. With three bedrooms with different bed configurations and two bathrooms, it was great for a group of friends and would be perfect for a family. The kitchen was also really well stocked and we enjoyed cooking there, as well as taking advatange of the local takeaways and restaurants. There are lots of suggestions for things to do too! A lovely place to stay.

Good sized accommodation with nice homely touches, which, if you have a car, is good for exploring the local area. If not there is a bus service which runs all day and (from what we saw) most of the night past the house. The local shops, including a co-op are just 2 minutes walk away, as is the local pub. We didn’t meet Lynne, but that seems normal these days for Airbnb hosts, however check in was easy, her description of the property was accurate and she was friendly and quick to respond to emails. A few points to note, the shower is very small and there is traffic noise from early morning, because you are on the main road. Also some neighbours are quite vocal about where you can’t park (including they don’t like you parking on a normal public road, which is free for anyone to use!) but that’s not Lynne’s fault. Overall, it’s a good standard of accommodation for the price, given the number of people the house can accommodate and it feels homely. I would recommend it and I wish Lynne every success with her Airbnb venture!

Lovely place to stay, so close to lots of walks in the country, and only a short drive from some great places, most notably for us, only 20 minutes from Seaham Beach.

Very convenient for Durham but within good striking distance of so much more as well. More spacious than we anticipated especially in the twin and bunk rooms. We had a very special week.

Old Stone Cottage is a very well equipped , spotlessly clean holiday accommodation. It is a convenient 10 minute drive to Durham City and there is a very large Tesco store in a nearby retail park. Lynne is an excellent host and she has provided a file full of local suggestions for visits . We shared the accommodation with our black Labrador and there are lots of lovely walks nearby for us all to enjoy.
This nicely presented, well equipped cottage is only a few miles drive from Durham city and has lovely walks nearby. Host was lovely, very responsive and helpful. Welcome basket of cereals, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk was a lovely touch. I would recommend it for families or couples. Two bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath, are a real bonus. Small, outside space at the front has picnic table and chairs and is sheltered by bushes to screen you from the road.

Beautiful place, easy to access, incredibly clean and tidy. We spent two night only there but we wished we stayed more! Beds were comfy, hot water running regularly and Lynne was very clear in her indications both to the place and to get access to it. Lovely place indeed!

The property was clean, modern and very well presented. Lynne was always quick to reply to emails and left a welcome pack of essential food/ drink which was great to walk in to after a long journey and not knowing the area. The house was warm and comfortable and a great spot to base yourself to explore County Durham from.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. From the comfortable beds to the personal touches like the welcome basket, Lynne made us fell at home here. It’s a great place to stay!
The cottage is fantastic, it is beautifully decorated and the space is really comfortable. The lounge is large with lots of comfy seating, great for relaxing with family and friends, and it has good TV facilities. The kitchen is also a good size and very well equipped, great bedrooms with comfortable beds and good quality bedding, and the two bathrooms were clean and spacious. The cottage was also lovely and warm, which was much appreciated as we visited during a cold snap! Lynne's communication was outstanding at all times, and the hospitality was great with food essentials like tea and coffee provided in the kitchen. The cottage is on the main road into the village which meant it was easy to get the bus or drive into Durham only 3 miles away, and also easy to get to the local shops, as well as being right beside open fields for countryside walks. We had a lovely stay and would definitely stay here again! Thanks Lynne!
We are just back from a weekend in the Old Stone Cottage, what a lovely house to stay in a complete home from home and perfect for exploring Durham /Newcastle etc, there are six of us (us and 4 kids) and the house was more than big enough for us all it may look small from the outside but it's really spacious on the inside.
Lynne was great from the minute we booked she couldn't have been more helpful, we even had a small hamper of essentials waiting for us, plus it has Wi-Fi which the kids were over the moon about!!!
If you need a place to stay in Durham look no further you'd do well to beat it.

Lynne was brilliant in her communication. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We could not fault things at all.
Freshly decorated ,spacious & comfortable accommodation . easy travel to city . Straight forward check in arrangements .Good communication and plenty of information provided by Lynne to help guests make the most of their stay.
Had a great stay in the cottage, it was lovley and cosy, very clean and kitted out with everything we could possibly need. Would definitely recommend.
A lovely cottage. Really clean and as described. So close to Durham and great access links to Newcastle. My family and I were up to for the Great North Run and Lynne was really responsive to all my queries which made the whole trip easier.
What a great find, so close to Durham. The cottage had everything we needed for a grown-up family weekend. Beautifully decorated in neutral colours, warm and clean. Local shops are within easy walking distance - fresh bread from the baker first thing. Parking is only at the front of the cottage, but we managed to park three cars - so it wasn't a problem.

Stone Cottage is perfectly placed to be able to see both Durham city and the surrounding countryside. The cottage is very spacious and really comfortable, it is everything you need for it to be a home from home!

Lovely house with bags of space and all the mod-cons for the practicalities of a longer or family visit.
A fine location in a rural village and on the main bus route into Durham or out to Hartlepool and the coast.
Comfy, roomy, attractive, and well placed for exploration of County Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire.
